Itinerary: A Weekend In Kuala Lumpur



Budget: Php15,000 per person*


Day 1

  • Breakfast 
  • 9:00 - Take a taxi to Batu Caves: allot at least 2 hours for climbing and walking around the area
  • 11:30 - Take the KTM Kommuter train to Kuala Lumpur Railway station (approximately 30 minutes)
  • 12:00 - Exit at Jalan Hishamuddin street to start your Architecture walk (approximately 4 hours, including lunch and photo stops)

    • Across the street from the railway station is the Malayan Railway Administration Building
    • Walk towards Jalan Raya street until you reach KL City Gallery: learn Malaysian culture then try Malaysian cuisine at the ARCH Cafe 
    • Next stop is Sultan Abdul Samad Bldg
    • Walk straight and turn right at Jalan Tun Perak street until you reach Jamek Mosque
  • 16:00 - Take a cab to Petronas towers (approx. 10 minutes) and relax in the shopping center until sundown when the towers are illuminated and look spectacular in photos. Option to go up the towers (Php 975/ $22) 
  • 19:30 - Take a green line GO KL city bus to Bukit Bintang and walk to Jalan Alor for dinner and drinks (there's a bus stop in front of Petronas)

Day 2

  • Breakfast and check-out
  • 10:00 - Take the GO KL city bus purple line and hop off at each of the following stops (the order depends on your starting point)
    • Menara Tower
    • Petaling Street: flea market shopping
    • From Petaling St., walk to Sri Mahamariamman temple and Guan Di Temple (approx. 5 mins.)
    • Walk to Central Market (approx. 10 mins.) : lunch and more shopping 
  • Free time to relax before you catch your flight. Don't forget to get your luggage from the hotel!



Tips
  • The lights of the Petronas towers are switched off by midnight so get there before 12. Tweet this tip!
